Wedding Hair Durham NC

romantic wedding hair with calm vibes

Our hair…we can have a complicated relationship with it sometimes, especially when finding a style that works for your texture in North Carolina's humidity. For your outdoor elopement or intimate wedding, you may envision a soft, romantic updo, textured low bun or boho braid that lasts all night so you don't have to fix anything. Most importantly, you need a bridal hairstylist who works well with all hair textures, has chill vibes, and is a supportive presence on your wedding day. If this resonates with you, you’re in the right place! I'm Dareece, bridal hairstylist and owner of Versatility Hair Studio in Durham NC. I help North Carolina brides achieve romantic wedding hair that lasts all night, while being a calm, supportive presence throughout the journey of being a bride.

curly, coily, and wavy hair is safe here.

Have you ever felt ostracized during a hairstyling session because someone said your hair was difficult, bad, hard to manage, or too much work? You are not alone.

Before working with me, many of my brides with textured hair felt discouraged because they encountered an inexperienced hairstylist or someone who wouldn’t patiently work with their hair texture. It’s no surprise that these brides had hairstyling traumas and fears of updos falling, curls going flat or battling uncontrollable frizz.

You will have beautiful, structured wedding hair, regardless of your hair texture, when working with me. I welcome all ethnicities and properly maintain the integrity of the hair throughout each styling session.

i care about your wellbeing.

What emotions/feelings are you holding in while engaged because you think no one cares?

All too often, brides are pushed through the cycle of engagement, wedding planning, and wedding day without anyone taking the time to ask them how they're feeling. Let’s be real: getting married comes with many emotions, not just excitement. Yet, it can be a lonely road for many brides because feelings other than pure bliss can be frowned upon. This can make women shut down and feel isolated or wonder if something is wrong with them if they don’t meet people’s expectations of how they “should” feel.

It's more than just styling hair when brides work with me. From start to finish, I listen to understand how you’re truly feeling while offering empathy and a non judgmental environment.

Need a bit of hair inspiration?

“she is incredible at her job”

Dareece was simply amazing for my wedding. She is incredible at her job, but more than that she’s professional, kind, patient, warm and wonderful to work with. She supported every change or decision through out the process. I am so glad she was part of my wedding day and I recommend her to everyone.

“it held up the whole night!”

Dareece was so good and talented! My hair never holds a curl but it held up the whole night! She did my bridesmaids and mom’s hair as well and was able to get everything done quickly and beautifully.

I’m a consummate professional

Your wedding day should feel calm and relaxed from beginning to end, not stressful or chaotic. You want vendors you can trust will be there for you.

Professionalism on a wedding day, and throughout our time working together, is of the utmost importance to me. This means I communicate clearly, show up on time with a fully stocked kit, and have a friendly, helpful presence. I bring good energy and gorgeous hair on wedding mornings so brides feel calm, confident, and supported during the styling experience.

Yes, I book parties of one.

Some brides only want hair experiences for themselves. However, finding a bridal hairstylist who caters to the bride only can be like searching for a unicorn.

The wedding industry oftentimes pushes brides to go big in everything, even though this is not what some brides truly want or need. It makes sense for some nontraditional brides having elopements or intimate weddings to feel frustration when they are denied beauty services because they do not meet booking minimums.

I intentionally specialize in intimate bridal hair experiences. Working one on one allows me to give brides calm, focused attention while creating a customized bridal hairstyle that is the right fit for her wedding day.

“She was exactly what i needed”

On wedding day, she was EXACTLY what I needed. The time I spent sitting in her chair, even when we weren't talking and just existed in each other’s presence, was so calming to me. I can't express how appreciative I am for how she helped prepare me to go into the day level-headed and mindful.
